Intel is abandoning Microsoft Vista - Who is NEXT?
What could be the worst nightmare for Microsoft - seeing Intel abandoning their latest operating System MS Vista. According to PC World, after a long decision, Intel, Microsoft’s long time friend won’t upgrade their current 80,000 computers for Vista. The Times report
“the company made its decision after a lengthy analysis by its internal technology staff of the costs and potential benefits of moving to Windows Vista, which has drawn fire from many customers as a buggy, bloated program that requires costly hardware upgrades to run smoothly. ”
Microsoft’s “Vista Capable PC” scheme may have been launched specifically to help Intel meet its quarterly earnings by selling older Intel chipsets that couldn’t properly run Vista. But clearly it’s not working at all. If you remember, IBM did the same thing few years back - leaving Windows and decided to use Linux.
It’s a real shock to Microsoft as they are struggling in search engine market, could buyout Yahoo - Steve Bellmer still trying, Chairman Bill Gates left the premises. Now, if they keep loosing Operating Market, what’s the future for them? Though 95% personal computer run on Windows, loosing partners like Intel will have a long lasting affect in the business … no doubt!
